Featuring Content

Populate your board with content — anytime, anywhere

There are four different ways to populate your board with the social content you need.

  1. via our Chrome extension, Tagboard Curate
  2. via a direct URL
  3. via a content feed
  4. via our iOS app, Tagboard Go

1. Via our Chrome Extension, Tagboard Curate

A Chrome Extension that enables a one-click workflow to bring content into Tagboard directly from social networks.

Already an expert at scouring the social networks? Don't reinvent your workflow. Use our Tagboard Chrome Extension, a one-click workflow, to send content directly from social networks to your Social Board(s). Head to the Chrome Web Store to add our Tagboard Curate Chrome extension.

Once you have the extension added, you'll want to pin the extension so it's easy to access anytime. To pin the extension, click on the puzzle piece in the upper right corner of your Chrome browser. This will open the dropdown list of your extensions. Click to pin the Tagboard Curate extension.

NOTE

If you do not see the extension, click "manage extensions" and toggle Tagboard Curate.

Using the Extension

If it's your first time using the extension, you may be prompted to log in. Click on the extension in the upper right corner of your browser, and select log in. You will be redirected to Tagboard.com to do so.

Once you are logged in,

  1. Open the extension and ensure it's toggled on
  2. If you are a Team Member, click your avatar to switch teams from your personal account to your company/team account. Choose the Team Owner from the menu. This will allow you to see all the Social Boards associated with the account.

Featuring to a Social Board

Click on or hover your mouse over a social post you want to feature to get the Tagboard button to appear. Click on the button and choose which Social Board you'd like to feature the post in. There will be a green “Content Featured Successfully” pop up message on the top right if the post was successfully added to your social board.

Tagboard for Google Chrome supports:

  • Threads posts
  • Heymarket messages
  • Instagram posts
  • TikTok text posts, videos, and photos
  • Twitch comments
  • X, formerly Twitter, posts
  • YouTube videos, comments, LIVE chat and Shorts

Setting a default Social Board (optional)

You have the option to set a default tagboard. You'd want to do this if you manage multiple Social Boards but only need to feature posts to a single moderation dashboard.

  1. Click on the pinned Tagboard logo [top right of your Chrome browser] to load the Chrome Extension dropdown.
  2. Hover your mouse over the Social Board you want to select.
  3. Click on the settings icon, then select "Set as default".

Now, social content featured using the Chrome extension will automatically be sent to that specific Social Board. Rather than needing to choose a location each time you feature content.

2. Via a Direct URL

Use a direct link to feature individual pieces of social content on your board.

If you know the exact piece of social content you want to include in your story, then you can manually feature a post by using its direct link.

In order for a post to be manually added via its direct link, it:

  • must be publicly accessible... having originated from a public account or been marked as being Public
  • cannot be a sponsored post

Below are the steps for featuring social content via URL [its direct link].

  1. Copy the specific post URL from Threads, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, and/or TikTok.
  2. Open the social board where you want to feature this post. It should automatically open up to the Featured tab
  3. Select the "Feature post via URL" button in the top right corner (pictured below).
  4. Paste the direct URL into the popup window, then click "Feature". This will populate that social post into your tagboard.

3. Via a Content Feed

How to create, continuously monitor, and delete content feeds.

Using a content feed will allow you to track a #hashtag or @username for an ongoing time (i.e. during your campaign, game, or show). With content feeds, you can set up filtered content feeds by network [Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube] that automatically feed into your moderation dashboard. All of this being in real time.

Before continuing, ensure your account has account integrations set up. If you go to "Integrations" within your account settings and see no social integrations, then contact your Team Owner. They will need to set social account connections [with help from this article].

Below, you will find the ways to

  • create a content feed,
  • feature content from your feed(s), and
  • manage your content feeds

NOTE

If you are looking to feature content from Threads, X, TikTok, Heymarket, or Twitch you will want to visit the “Via our Chrome Extension” section above as these have no direct integrations with feeds.

Creating a Content Feed

Step 1

After you've created a new social board, click on ‘Create Feed’ under the ‘Create a Content Feed’ section.

Step 2

Select which social network you want to use.

If you're looking for Threads, X, Twitch, or Heymarket, check out the Tagboard Curate Extension.

For more information on how to use Share It, visit Gather & Display Direct UGC and Share It.

  • Facebook content can ONLY be featured via content feed! Posts and comments on your posts for your authorized Facebook Pages are all that can be featured. Any posts, or comments on those posts, PRIOR to a Facebook content feed being set up will not populate in your tagboard. Only posts and comments from the time your feed is set up and moving forward will appear in Tagboard.

Step 3

Select the type of feed you want to set up [each network varies]

  • Instagram
    1. Hashtag - create a content feed based off a hashtag for manual content curation
    2. Business profile - create a content feed for a specific account for manual or automatic curation
  • Facebook
    1. Business page - ONLY populates your authorized [/connected] Facebook Pages and posts from the point of setting up a content feed moving forward
  • YouTube
    1. User - create a content feed for a specific account for manual or automatic curation

Step 4

Name your feed and select a hashtag or user. If you'd like to further filter your results, select 'Advanced Settings'. Here you can add additional filters including:

  • Post type (photo, video, text),
  • Required Keywords,
  • Blocked Keywords,
  • and Conditional Keywords.
  • User feeds also have an option to auto-feature content. This means that all posts from this user will be automatically featured, to be displayed on your connected screen. (Note that posts will only auto-feature going forward, not retroactively).

Step 5

Click 'Save Feed' and you're all set! You can create additional feeds, or head to your Social Board to start curating content.

Feature content from your feed(s)

Click the "Feeds" tab in the upper left of your moderation dashboard. This will display your first content feed. You can switch between your Feeds using the dropdown in the upper left corner. Selecting "Latest Posts" will display an aggregated view of all feeds together.

To move a social post over to your Featured tab, click the blue checkmark to feature a post. You can also click on an individual post to expand the post, so you can read the entire caption & use the arrow keys to quickly sort through posts.

Manage your content feed(s) and additional navigation

Adding additional feed(s)

You can create a new feed at any time by selecting the 'Add New Feed' icon in the upper right corner, then follow the steps in "Creating a Content Feed" above.

Feed options

Selecting the three dots on the far right side of your moderation dashboard will display your feed options.

  1. Turn off auto-featuring: This will only be available in a "user" feed where auto-featuring is enabled.
  2. Edit feed settings: Make adjustments to the feed name or Advanced Settings
  3. View feed stats: See a snapshot of analytics, including daily post counts of content ingested into your social feed
  4. Manage feeds: delete or edit a feed on your social board

Featuring Content to Another Dashboard

You can use separate Social Boards to organize different types of content or to move content through a multi-layer approval process [i.e. if several people in your organization need to sign off on each individual post]. Click on the arrow in the upper right corner of a grid containing a social post to feature content to another Social Board.

This will open a modal with a full list of your Social Boards. Click the 'feature' button on the right to feature that post to another board.

Reordering Your Story

To reorder your featured content, click on the 'Toggle Manual Sorting' button on the far right side of your moderation dashboard. This will enable manual sorting mode, so you can drag and drop your content into any desired order.

4. Via our iOS app, Tagboard Go

Feature content on the go using Tagboard's iOS app.

No need to stay tethered to a computer! Feature content directly from your iPhone or iPad using Tagboard's iOS App. Click here to head to the Apple Store to download the mobile app.

The first time you download and use the app, you'll need to open the app and log in to your Tagboard account to authorize the app. Once you're logged in, you can feature content directly from the native Twitter and Instagram apps.

Find the content you want to feature, click the 'share' button and select "Share Via..."

The first time you use Tagboard Go, you'll need to enable the app as a sharing option on your device. Scroll all the way to the right, and select "More". Find the Tagboard Go app in your list, and toggle it on. Click "Done" and you'll see Tagboard Go as an option in your share list.

To feature the post, click the Tagboard Go icon. Select "Choose tagboards" to select the tagboard where you want to feature your content. You can select one tagboard, or press and hold to set a tagboard as a default.

Featuring content from the Instagram app

Find the Instagram post you want to feature, and click on the ellipsis in the upper right corner. Click "Share to" and select Tagboard Go. From here the process is just like Twitter!

Featuring content using a URL

You can also feature content using Tagboard Go by copying the post URL from the app or your iPhone's browser. Once you copy the URL onto your clipboard, open Tagboard Go and click the "Link" button in the upper right corner. Tagboard Go will automatically pull in the link from your clipboard so you can select a specific tagboard, or your default.
