Let's go live! This article will teach you how to create a production, create an output link, and set yourself up for success with the right video and audio settings.
Tips & Best Practices 📣
- Chrome is our preferred browser.
- Tagboard requires a high bandwidth internet (40mbps minimum, more is better with cloud productions).
Step 1: Setup your production & create a output link 🔗
First, we're going to navigate to Producer to create a production. You'll select "+New Production" and give it name before clicking "Create"!
Next, you'll select "Output" at the top right of your production. You'll need to type in a screen name, then you can click "create display URL". That's it! You made your output link!
Note: You can have several productions running at the same time! They won't interfere with each other.
Step 2: Connect your Tagboard Output Link 💻
Here are the common methods for displaying Tagboard live:
- Physical Connection or Fullscreen Router Source Using a Scan Converter: Connect the device to the screen with the correct HDMI, DVI , or VGA cable.
- Connect via Direct URL Input to Production Software: Software with HTML5 input support should allow adding a Tagboard display URL as a layer/input within the switcher.
- Connect via Daktronics: Daktronics allows direct input of a Tagboard display URL as a .uri file. Learn more on Daktronics support page here.
You can read more on these methods in our Live Display Requirements here.
Step 3: Setup your Computer to Play Video & Audio 🔈
Chrome's autoplay policies affect video playback with sound. If you want to use video with audio in Tagboard, it's important to take the following steps:
- Configure your browser to ensure you get sound by first copying and pasting the following link into your Chrome browser: chrome://settings/content/sound
- Then, add the websites listed below to "Allowed to play sound":
