Service Status - Ongoing - Authentication via X (formerly known as Twitter)

Status: Ongoing

Update (4/26/2024):

Tagboard has been updated so that you no longer need an X account connected to your Tagboard account to make X content feeds! It is no longer a requirement for an X account to be connected for this functionality.

This issue continues to be ongoing as we evaluate our options for accounts that cannot login due to only being setup with authentication through X. If you're in a position where you cannot log into your account via X, we have two paths forward for you: (1) If you have Facebook Login setup on your account, try that and then convert your account to use email/password or (2) Submit a support request via our Customer Portal or by emailing our support team. We'll continue to post meaningful updates as we progress towards a resolution.

Description:

We want to inform our users that we are currently experiencing an issue with new X Account connections. This issue appears to be due to the way X is handing back credentials when setting up account credentials in X and passing to Tagboard.

Impact:

  • (MITIGATED: 4/26/2024) Connecting your X Account: Account connections with X cannot be reliably established at this time. If you currently have one setup, it is recommended to leave it be.
    • This does not impact pre-existing X account connections and content feeds leveraging the account connection are not impacted.
  • Logging in via X/Twitter: If your account has not been setup with an email/password credential, you won't be able to login to Tagboard.

Current Status:

  • Our team has identified that the payload coming over from X appears to be missing some key datapoints that we expect in order to process these connections.

Next Steps:

  • Our Engineering resources are continuing to review the issue and are reaching out to X for collaboration.
  • Updates will be provided as soon as we have more information or when the issue is resolved.

We Apologize for the Inconvenience:

We understand the frustration this may cause and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Please rest assured that we are prioritizing the resolution of this issue to restore full functionality as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best Regards,

The Tagboard Team.
