Create time-based rounds, add questions, and decide how often people should be able to vote
Creating a Poll is a three-step process that you can complete in just a few minutes:
1. Setup: Create time-based rounds, add questions, and decide how often people should be able to vote.
2. Design: Customize the look and feel of both your interactive poll where people will vote, and the results display for your broadcast or stadium screens.
3. Publish: Launch a hosted landing page or copy the embed code to place your poll anywhere.
From your Creator Workspace, click Create New, and select Poll. Click 'Get Started' and let's get started with setting up your Rounds!
Manage Rounds:
The round sets when your poll should start & end, and what questions participants will see during that timeframe. By default, your poll will be one open round with no end date. You have the option to add & schedule as many rounds as you’d like.
- You can only have one active round at a time. Rounds cannot overlap.
- If you put multiple questions in the same round, participants will vote on all of the questions in a row.
- You can reset votes for an active round. If you reset the votes, we’ll save the current votes and create a new round with the same questions, settings, and options. That way your past results stay safe and viewable.
- You can also reopen a closed round. You have two options:
- Reopen: Makes the round editable again, so you can adjust the start & end dates.
- Reopen & Reset: archives the round, and creates a new one with the same questions, settings, and options. That way you don’t lose any analytics from the original round. You’ll need to make sure the new round’s start date is after the last one ends.
💡 So what’s the best way to set up your rounds?
If you want to regularly run a poll with the same design, but using a new question each time (ie. 7th inning stretch song, fit check, question of the day), we recommend you start with just 1 round. Each activation, reset the round and simply update the question. This means you’ll only ever have to style & design once, but you'll be able to see analytics per question, or all together.
If you want to use the same landing page and automatically switch to the next set of questions at a set time, we recommend setting up multiple rounds. Save time & effort setting them up in advance.
Add questions:
Each question needs at least two options (max 50). Options must have text (you can decide later whether or not you want to show it on your display!), but images are optional.
Add as many questions as you need! If you have multiple questions in the same round, participants will vote on all of them at the same time.
Don’t worry, you can come back to update your questions at any time! Your displays will automatically update.
Set voting limits:
To open Round Settings, click on the gear next to the Round on the left side of your screen. You can choose whether participants should be able to cast a single, or unlimited votes. If you choose a single vote, you can choose a single vote per poll, per hour, per calendar day, or per calendar week. (Day and week limits will reset at midnight UTC, which is 8PM ET / 5PM PT.) Each Round has its own Round Settings that can be controlled separately.
Once your poll is set up, it's time to design your look! Select ‘Go To Design’ at the bottom right of your screen, or click the ‘Design’ tab at the top to move to Step 2.
