- Find yourself mixing two things up? Here's terms that sound alike, but aren't the same
Glossary of Current Terms
Graphics: The umbrella term for any visual content type in Tagboard. There are 4 types of Graphics: 1) Custom Graphics, 2) Social Graphics, 3) Poll Graphics, and 4) Classic Graphics. When you see the option to "Add Graphic", it covers all four types.
-
Custom (previously Graphics)
The canvas-built graphic type, made from scratch (or from a template) using the graphic builder's Elements panel, layers, and design tools. (💡 This is what most people mean when they say "graphic" out of habit!) -
Social (previously Social Display)
A standalone social graphic, templatized to display user generated content from Social networks or Share It. You can choose a specific layout: Grid, Waterfall, Carousel, Mural, Isolated, Lower Third, Cinematic, or Ticker. -
Poll and Classic Poll
Design and display results from your real time audience & fan polls. "Poll" refers to our current poll builder. "Classic Poll" is the legacy one. - Classic (previously Classic Display)
The legacy interactive panel type: Poll Results, Countdown Clock, and Image Only. These legacy graphics cannot be combined with any other graphic type.
Need some inspiration to get started? Try searching our Template Library! We have hundreds of pre-designed templates to choose from. Tagboard offers templates for Custom and Poll Graphics.
Custom Scene (previously Graphic Group)
A container that combines multiple Custom Graphics together so they can go live as one item. Only Custom Graphics can go inside a Custom Scene. Custom Scenes do not support Poll, Social, Classic Graphics, Media, or Markers. You can set up your Custom Scenes in Show Builder, and Go Live with them in Producer.
TIP: Social and Polls can be added as elements inside your Custom Graphics. This gives you more flexibility in your design. Plus allows you to add Social & Polls inside a Custom Scene! To get started, add an element to your canvas and select 'Tagboard Apps'.
Curated Content: This is where you can find all of your featured content, that you'll use to populate your graphics. There are 2 types of curated content:
-
Boards
A curated collection of Share It & social network content (previously referred to as tagboards). This is where you go to set up real-time feeds and feature individual social posts. - Shoppable
Browse the Fanatics catalog and save specific items to collections, so you can display them on your Custom Graphics.
Pages and Embeds: This is where you can find all of your digital experiences.
- Pages
A custom landing page created directly within Tagboard, for hosting digital fan experiences, like Share It and Polling. Tagboard handles publishing & hosting your page. You just share the URL with your audience! - Embeds
Generate a code to embed real-time social content or a classic poll on your website or mobile app. Tagboard Embeds rely on the placement of a block of HTML, and a Script tag into the HTML of a given website that will automatically generate an HTML iFrame that displays Tagboard content.
Media
This is where you can upload your own design assets, including images, videos, and font files. You'll use these assets to design your Graphics. You can also put media files directly into your rundown to take them live, fullscreen!
Shows
A rundown built in Show Builder: Segments containing Graphics, Custom Scenes, Media, and Markers, ready to send into Producer as a playlist. See "Show Builder 101" for the full walkthrough.

Terms That Sound Alike but Aren't the Same
- Custom vs. Custom Scene: Custom is a single graphic. Custom Scene is a container that holds multiple Custom Graphics and takes them live all together, as one item.
- Classic Graphic vs. Custom Graphic: Classic Graphic is the legacy interactive panel type (Poll Results, Countdown Clock, Image Only). Custom Graphic is the modern canvas-built type. They are both types of Graphics, but aren't related!
- Board vs. Custom Scene: Both are "a container for other content," but a Board holds curated social posts, and a Custom Scene holds Custom Graphics.
