How to create, refresh, and delete your live display output(s).
When you are ready to go live, you will need to connect your production to a screen, your control room, or live production software. There are multiple ways in which this can be done. See below for how to manage (connect and refresh a screen as well as delete previous) connections.
Connecting a Screen
Connect Using URL
To connect using a URL,
-
-
- Click "Output(s)" in the top right corner of Producer, which should open a popup window that's defaulted to a "Connect Using URL" option.
- Start by naming your screen (i.e. "studio main screen" or "center field display") then click on the 'create display URL' button. This will automatically create a URL that you can copy and paste.
- Paste the URL into another screen as your live output.
-
If your URL is ever removed from your production software, then you can find it again within the "Output(s)" menu. The bottom left of this menu will display connected screens to "This Production". There will be a copy URL button. Once copied you can paste it back into where it previously was located.
Connect Using Code
You can also connect your screen using a code on your display device.
-
-
- Visit tagboard.tv on your display device to generate a custom passcode unique to this screen.
- Once you have the passcode, click "Output(s)" in the top right corner of Producer.
- Select "Connect using code" and type in the custom passcode as well as a name for Producer to remember this display as.
-
Your connected screen will act as a mirror of the 'live window' you see in Producer. Any changes you make to your timeline will automatically be synced with your connected screens. Once your screens are connected, you can control everything remotely from Producer.
Note:
Producer will remember screens that are connected via code.
Refreshing a Screen
Need to refresh your screen? Tagboard has made this easier than ever. Open the "Output(s)" menu. The bottom left of this menu will display connected screens to "This Production". When the connected screen is active [indicated by a green status light] there will be a reload option. Selecting this will refresh the connected screen.
Deleting a Connected Screen
Connected screens can be deleted from the Outputs menu. Click "Output(s)" in the top right corner of Producer. From this menu, you will be able to delete a previously connected output using the delete button. However, please take note, that connected screens do not need to be deleted often. We do recommend deleting and generating a new URL, or code, every 6 - 12 months in order to ensure the content displayed via URL, or code, stay current with our product updates.
